Overview

CCBill is a macOS utility app that analyzes Claude Code and Codex usage locally on your Mac. Usage analysis runs locally. Optional automatic and manual price checks retrieve public model pricing from OpenAI and Anthropic documentation over HTTPS.

Data Collection

CCBill does not upload your usage data. Specifically:

• No personal information is collected
• No usage analytics or crash reports are sent
• Price checks request model documentation from developers.openai.com (model-specific URLs) and platform.claude.com (a shared Claude pricing page)
• Session files, prompts, responses, project paths, token counts, account credentials, and API keys are not sent with price checks
• No analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs are used
• The documentation host receives ordinary connection information, such as the requesting IP address, when a price check is made

Local Data Access

CCBill reads the following files stored locally on your Mac to display usage statistics:

All data is read-only. CCBill never modifies, deletes, or writes to any of these files. File access requires explicit user permission through macOS native folder selection (NSOpenPanel), and access is persisted via security-scoped bookmarks.

Data Storage

CCBill stores only the following on your Mac:

• Security-scoped bookmarks: To remember your folder access permissions between app launches
• App preferences: Language, onboarding, and automatic price-check settings (via UserDefaults)
• Pricing data: Saved model prices, manual overrides, price history, and last-check times (via UserDefaults)
• Local cost archive: Historical Claude daily cost summaries in Application Support

Price data and usage summaries are stored locally. Automatic price checks can be disabled in the Model Prices screen; manual checks remain available.

Third-Party Services

Model price checks connect to OpenAI’s and Anthropic’s public documentation without requiring an account or API key. Requests are not model inference calls. CCBill does not include analytics or advertising SDKs.

Children's Privacy

CCBill does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy
